Muse + Smog Present Pinch, April 23rd

After a near three month wait, Muse is back April 23rd, 2010 with a special collaboration alongside local Dubstep pioneers Smog.

This event will feature a diverse lineup consisting of Dubstep from Tectonic Recordings artist Pinch; D&B, Techno and more from yours truly; and a D&B/Dubstep opening set by Deco.

We’ve switched venues for this night, so make sure to set your Google Maps on autopilot towards Temporary Spaces 2 – located at 4658 Melrose just west of the 101 Freeway. This venue offers valet parking, a quaint and comfortable bar with plenty of seating, pool table, large outside smoking patio and hard hitting Turbo Sound.

Entrance for this event is only $10 all night, plus we’re letting the first 80 people who RSVP at the new Club Muse Blog in for only $5 before 11PM.

The second collaboration between Kevin Focus and Kuru has been completed and featured on his Exclusive fabric Blog Mix released yesterday. Receiving great response from live audiences and DJs alike, Lock Connect is a deep Progressive House bit that finds its energy in old school stabs and classic vocal chimes. Electronic Creatives & Dubspot Present: Ableton Live Masterclass Featuring Max for Live. For those interested in tapping into the future of Music Production, look no further than Ableton Live and Max for Live. For those unfamiliar, Ableton Live is a real-time sequencing environment that is designed with Live Performance in mind. Max for Live is Cycling 74’s port of Max MSP (Their visual programming language for music and multimedia) to the Ableton Live Platform. This Masterclass will cover introductory subjects regarding Ableton Live on the first day, followed by a more advanced second day that features Max for Live. This presentation will be given by Laura Escude and Henry Strange, both artists with extensive resumes covering a fast number of disciplines.

Kuru is Back at EM Sundays, March 21st

We’ve been busy in the studio as of late, working on establishing our 4/4 repertoire and getting the Kuru name out there. Our latest projects will feature the addition of a well-known vocalist, one who has added an amazing dynamic to our music. Come check us out this Sunday as we’ll be testing our some of our new material on the EM Sundays crowd (our set is 10pm-12am) at Joseph’s in Hollywood for a second time. This Friday marks the debut of Bass Lounge VIP at the world renowned Conga Room inside of LA Live. We’ll be headlining the “dress-to-impress” night that will take place inside the club’s restaurant afterhours. The main room will be a Los Angeleno crowd of Latin Pop and Top 40 music, but I’m sure we’ll catch the ear of a few stragglers eager to hear something a bit more future-forward.

Kuru’s Escape Clause on Media Contender

The direction D&B has steered lately is definitely a sharp left, blatantly cutting off the Pendulum era without even looking in the rearview mirror. Producers are putting out Minimal and Techno-influenced tracks that go “kick-crackle-snap” instead of “boom-clack.” We believe there’s a happy medium in there somewhere and created a new bit entitled Escape Clause to fit into an aesthetic of dancefloor minimalism, if there is such a thing. It’s available now as a Media Contender Exclusive Release and free for download.

Head over to our favorite blog and grab the 320. Oh, and you may as well snag the Exclusive Photek Old School set recorded at our Club Muse in 2007 while you’re there. Nothing like a bit of the old ‘ardcore to brighten your day.
